Artist Statement

It is not by accident most every relaxation sound machine is based on the sound of the waves crashing on the seashore.  It is a innate human sense of serenity to relax upon the sight or sound of the sea.

I freely admit I am in love with the sea.  When I am near, I stop to listen and observe the mighty, yet calming effects of the seashore. For years, I have worked to bring this feeling into the interior environment so these effects could be enjoyed anywhere, inside.  So many others have been able to share the sounds of the sea, I want to share the visual impact and the visual peace of the sea.

Artist John G Heinrichs, on location in Hawaii.

John G. Heinrichs, Artist

Artist Background

John Heinrichs has spent many hours observing the seas on both the East and West Coasts of the United States.  In addition he has taken many trips to the islands of Hawaii studying and observing the tropical seas.  John is a self-taught artist receiving training from well-known seascape artist Bill Blackman and other nationally known teaching artists. Training materials from other well-known seascape artists have also been used to learn the techniques of painting the sea.  When traveling, John has been an avid observer of the Masters of seascape painting such as the famous Roy Gonzales Tabora and Walfrido Garcia (both of Hawaii). While the goal is not to copy these fine artists, their insight into portraying the sea has been an invaluable learning experience to John. This collected information has been mixed into the talents of John resulting in his award winning style of painting the sea. John has been a painter for nearly a decade and has been involved in sharing his knowledge with others in the form of advice and the transfer of experiences learned to other emerging artists. John G. Heinrichs, ACI, is a certified oil painting instructor with Alexander Art and is scheduling workshops for other artists to also learn from the ultimate instructor, the sea.

All original paintings on this web site are handpainted by John G. Heinrichs
